About Ujima Consultants

Ujima Consultants began in Houston, Texas, in 1988, as a sole proprietary consulting operation. At that time, the main focus was to provide small businesses with quality consulting in the areas of management direction, advanced office systems, productivity enhancements and information system technology.

Ujima Consultants worked during this period with Seattle Central City Economic Development, Washington Applied Institute of Technology, Church of South Seattle Computing Literacy Program, and the Seattle Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens - Advisory Board. Contracts were also completed with Houston Central Business Economic Chamber in City of Houston, and the Houston Community College - Deltec Management Training Program. In addition, consulting services were provided to the State of Utah Business License Division in the Department of Commerce, and the Salt Lake City NAACP.

During 1995, the Ujima Consultants expanded their services to provide on site services for the same clientele. Ujima opened its site operation to the local community. The general public services increased to provide time-shared computing access and self-paced training with some tutoring Ujima Consultants started marketing some of its applications to Puget Sound human services organizations.

Ujima Consultants worked during this later period with the startup of the Maxine Mills Alternative High School, CAYA, Seattle and Southern California churches and religious associations, St. Mary's Food Bank, Child Haven of Seattle Food Bank Network and North West Harvest. Projects included database development, grant fund development, employee training, board of directors development, business plans, computing system architectural design and installation of network systems.

Ujima has grown extensively since 1989 and relocated its office in Seattle, Washington. Services available from us include many organization development matches and technology infusion strategies. Our UjimaSuites applications products now offer over 14 digital tools for human service organizations. Our consultants provide timely and competent subject matter solutions for Boards of Director in Non-Profit organizations and small businesses.

At present, Ujima Consultants offers three distinct clientele-consulting platforms. One is aimed at on-site services, another is aimed at direct consulting expertise, and the third is to support the UjimaSuites applications of products by users. Ujima Consultants prime mission is the same for all service clienteles.
